The Auburn will be a mixed-use, four-story building that will serve to attract and retain talent in the Auburn community. By enhancing Auburn’s Quality of Place through luxury residential rental units, net zero downtown parking, and multiple, high-end retail/office locations, The Auburn will become a long lasting part of Auburn's downtown ecosystem. A new 2,900 square ft. restaurant space will be added with outdoor dining to further enhance Auburn's downtown culture and nightlife.
The Auburn aims to keep the historic feel of the original structure through a thoughtful design that will pay homage to its predecessor, the Auburn Hotel. By matching the brick and limestone artistry of the original building, there will be a similar look and feel to the overall downtown aesthetic that new and long-time residents will cherish.

After managing the Auburn Hotel and adjoining buildings along 9th street, between Jackson and Main, for one year, it was determined by local authorities and the Auburn Development Group that the health, safety, and overall well-being of the community was in danger if the building was to be left standing. Auburn Development Group looked into preserving the structure as best as possible, but the deteriorated state of the building was too great, thus it needed to be demolished.
The Auburn is a four-story building with nearly 11,000 sq ft of commercial/retail space on the first floor, luxury apartments on the second floor and third floor, and private residential on the top floor.
There will be 14 units. A mix of two-bedroom, one-bedroom, and studio apartments will comprise the second and third floors. There will also be communal space for residents which includes a gym, courtyard outback, a dog run, and a hosting space.
You should see signs of movement now! We are working with local utilities to get everything prepared for construction, along with additional demolition on Jackson Street. Once those actions are completed, it is anticipated in Q2 2025 that foundation work will begin, with noticeable structural work by Labor Day 2025.
